How to Sideload Apps on FireStick

Using the on-screen keyboard, type "Downloader". As you type, suggestions will appear — select the first Downloader suggestion from the list to go to the app page.

Select the Downloader app tile from the search results to open its store page. Click "Get" or "Download" to install it. The app will be downloaded and installed in a few seconds.

Now you need to allow FireStick to install apps from outside the Amazon App Store. From the home screen, navigate to the Settings gear icon in the top menu, then scroll to and select "My Fire TV".

Inside "My Fire TV", select "Developer Options". This section controls app installation permissions. If you do not see Developer Options, go to Settings → My Fire TV → About, select your Fire TV Stick, and click it 7 times to unlock Developer Options.

Inside Developer Options, select "Install Unknown Apps" (or "Apps from Unknown Sources" on older models). Navigate to "Downloader" and toggle it ON. If your device shows "Apps from Unknown Sources", simply click it and select "Turn On" at the prompt.

Go to Your Apps & Channels and open Downloader. The first time you launch it, click "Allow" when prompted to grant storage access. Then click "OK" on the Quick Start Guide popup to dismiss it.
